Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.8 Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.12 For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
It’s not easy being a Christian and if anyone says it is I want to see their resume of life. Growing up as a kid I was always told you can’t be lukewarm so either I was out in the world or I was in the church. If I am going to be out in the world then I would be all in and vice versa.
When I was partying, I would take it to the max because I didn’t want to just dabble in it. I was going to be all in “life of the party” and turning it all the way up until I passed out. All that time God was still in the back of my head, but I left him there. We all fall short of the glory of God because life happens “Our Enemies” get the best of us and our biggest enemy is ourselves.
When I finally found myself again it was like running back home. I always knew where I belonged, I just never fully wanted to accept it. I can’t count on my fingers how many times I felt short, but that’s the best part about it God forgives and that’s all that matters. I don’t even want God to forget because I want him to keep showing where I came from. Now that I’m here it’s a fight to stay in this place. My mind wants to tell me to just throw in the towel and place fear back within me. I can’t this time I’ve come too far, so I continue to ask for guidance. God hears the prayers I cry at night because I don’t want to go backward.
It won’t be easy people but fight! put your best foot forward and if it comes to it drag to the finish line. Continue to ask for guidance, pray and fast because the enemy wants to attack you. Don’t give in and don’t give up continue to glorify him and stay joyful and spread the love that God shine through you. God will protect you.
Hear Me O, God
4 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.3 But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. Pslam 4:1-8
When I was younger at church we always had services were the saints would pray and pray for hours. This wasn’t any type of prayer some yelling, some weeping and all some could do was hum. At that age, I didn’t really understand the purpose of that kind of prayer, but now that I am older and have experienced some things I understand. I understand that sometimes there is a need to pour out our hearts to God with a loud cry ” letting God know, I put all my trust in you Father”.
With everything that is occurring in our lives we sometimes have to let God know “I know you got me and please continue to speak Lord”. So many things are coming against us and we never want to let God down, but remember God will take care of his faithful ones. He see’s your pain, he knows your desires and he hears your cries that you cry when you are all alone.
So keep fighting, praying, fasting and spreading God’s love. Trust God and know that he is the same God as he was back in the day of Moses, Daniel, Saul and all the others that he blessed. Hold on to your faith and keep all your trust in God.
Confidence in God
1 LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! 2 Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” 3 But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. 4 I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain. 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. 7 Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. 8 From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
Dry your weary eyes and rise up, joy comes in the morning
During this lifetime I can’t count on my fingers how many people are going to want to see you fail. If you’re sick some people may even look at it as ” if they are Christian then why aren’t they healed”. If you are going through a crisis in your life they may say “Well, I thought their help comes from God, why hasn’t he helped”. This will not go away, some people will be for you and some won’t. You just have to overcome the word of mouth and find more confidence in God.
Just because we are saved doesn’t stop us from being human! We go through the same life struggles as everyone else, but God does provide us with a way out. Yes, people may not like the way we live or whatever reason why they feel the way they do, we can’t help that. God will protect us from our enemies, but let not your heart be troubled. Keep your eyes focused on where your help comes from. Having enemies are just another distraction to keep you from excelling in God, the devil wants to see them get under your skin and cause you to break down and lose confidence in yourself and in God.
God has given you the authority, to rise up. Don’t let your confidence in what God can do for you waver, be un-moveable.Don’t let people who misuse you, or dislike you shake or break what God has blessed you with. God will never leave you or forsake you children of God.
1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, 3Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.Psalms 2:1-12
There is NO way to Win
We live in a world where people want to feel powerful. They want to be in control and rule as much as they can. We follow all these rules that have been set before us, but yet they will not follow the Bible. People wonder why is there so much rage in the world? People are fighting against the word of God they feel if God is taken out of the equation this world would be so much better. They can try all they want but there is no way they can win.
There is this mindset today of subtraction. Subtract God from things and the world will be a better place but in reality, its subtract God from things and the world will be chaos, it’s evidence is present now. We are subtracting when we should be adding. There is no difference in the rebellion toward God from many years ago, they are all fighting for power and a way around the true gospel”All these things for nothing” WHY?
In our own lives, we may rebel against God. As some of us say running from our calling. As Christian, we go through our times in life when we just want to run away and never come back. Who are we kidding? Have we not passed the stage of packing up and having to run away? God is just looking down at us laughing and shaking his head because the more we run the more we are actually hurting ourselves. Remember there is no way pass God. Everything we need is in God, everything we want God has, and everything we have is because of God.
Always Remember: Obedience is better than Sacrifice
Separate the Wheat from the Chaff
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Every road has a different path; left, right, narrow and wide. Not every path creates growth, some paths weigh you down and stunt your growth. Many of us are living lives that eat away at our happiness because we chose our own paths without carefully thinking where it would lead us. I am talking about two paths; positive and negative.
Are we living a life deeply rooted in a positive atmosphere filled with love and happiness and being watered daily so that we are able to prosper and be successful at everything we do? Or are we living a negative life that causes us to build hate in our hearts, where nothing has the chance to grow? Sometimes in our lives we need to separate the wheat from the chaff, there are a lot of dead things that we are holding on too that we need to let go. We can’t keep digging up and planting the same thing if it’s not producing fruit. We must let it go and plant something that is going to be of good service in our lives that is deeply rooted and shall prosper bringing forth great things.
Remember: Don’t give power to something or someone who isn’t worth it.
Are you living a positive life?
I was sitting on my bed, and decided to start a devotional journey. I am a young woman speaking from my heart, I will be writing whatever flows out. I will be doing a devotional through psalms, proverbs and job to start my journey and finish 2016 and the ending of 2017.
Is the Grass Greener or Artificial?
1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth, he meditates day and night.
Are your eyes focused on the people who have more money, bigger house, driving a fancy car, better marriage or maybe even better health than you? In Psalms 1:1 it says “Blessed is the man”… The man who walks in God’s word not gazing or making a wish list for something you’ve seen someone else have. But the man that is happy and content with where he is in his/her life and what God has currently blessed them with. Sometimes it can be difficult not to glance over at their grass wishing for better, but it would be hurtful to get there and realize everything was artificial.
Artificial because they didn’t use the necessary tools to grow their grass the right way. Instead, they took a different path; went to the store and bought their own grass to make it seem as if they took the time and effort to grow it. I say this because many of us are looking over at artificial grass it looks nice and green but it’s really dead underneath. No, fertilizer was ever planted just dirt covered up by material happiness.
Our happiness comes from God during any situation we can dig into God’s word water ourselves and grow. Real happiness is deep down within, it can’t be covered with material things. We must take time and effort and patiently wait for our own grass to grow by meditating day and night on God’s word.
What makes you happy?
